new "lay-out" for the turbo-ghia

i drove to 506 kilometres today to see my black ghia & bring some parts for a mock-up.
i had an idea how to put all the stuff in the engine bay, but when i was trying to make ém there as i wanted, i had to change the plans, for a more easier lay-out, but the best part, is that we can proceed with this new plan. the water/air cooler will be behind the right tail light area, the t04 60-1 turbo will get a longer 90 bend to fit with CB hideaway header, the intake manifold will get a 90 bend over the alternator, after that it will get the butterfly valve and after that comes the cooler, from the cooler to the turbo we will put the dump valve... we will have to get a tank for the cold water, and the radiator also... but in a week the car goes to a welder that will make all the mods, to the brackets, header, injectors, etc...so that the parts can be bolted to the car ...for good. one part that we managed to put in its place, was the wastegate, this is the number four.... huh. check out the pictures... you will get the idea anyway.

its finally in here! uuh aah... im pretty happy. NO im so F...ng happy! wooooohooooo!

my porsche & KG - visiting kangasniemi.

we made a short visit to p.laitinen motorsport department.

i saw my ghia again... it looked pretty awesome and a bit dusted and dirty.
the KG is on its way to see some daylights maybe in 2011, but the porsche will be sleeping till the KG is back on the road.
i didnt remember how plentyof parts i do have at pekka´s place. and theres more to be in there, while i get my trans from rancho.
i forget to take one weld magnum III...but it can go in the same time i will get the tranny and some other stuff...
what was included was two 135 tyres, a carpet kit for a KG, and a bow with lauffer bros (vw paradise) autocraft 910 heads, haltech system, 101,6 cylinder set etc...

under the bonnet the KG was looking better than ever... strictly business... ;-)
my 2332cc turbo motor was also there...but its waiting for the trans.

just teasing myself with those devils hot rod autocraft 910 heads, those might be better in a way, but they need some repair etc... and i have the heads that came along with this engine...so.

lets be practical. (sort of) and use the best pieces that i have.

i think this would be a good point to stop the dismantle, the engine looks pretty good.

OH and there might be happening something in the transmission side also @ Rancho.

the DRAG PRO tranny might be starting its way to finland also. :-)

twilight bros panel- update

1 day to the inspection... but im in the cottage with jimi-boy, having a cool time, we´ve been cruising in saukkola-city, eating strawberrys, ice cream, drinking "cold drinks" and eating what ever comes to mind. ;-) JIMI´s day naps, is loooong gone...seems like that. ;-)

but Mika did a fine job with the panel van, now i have to fix some small hand brake issues.

i have to drive to the helsinki city, today, because i have the permission for today...and to get Jyrki Launes race-number stickers to his famous black street racer... :-)

the sun is starting to soften my head in here...huh...

but cant compalin... hey i have even the crappy video camera to shoot some action clips from alastaro this week... and maybe even some cruising & krem-a-que too...lets see.

and hey...rancho gearbox update coming soon...

karmann ghia update - engine&tranny

the rancho DRAG PRO race tranny is still in USA, and the pauter small block is also in frank the banks yard...whys that? well the engine is payed full, but the fees in the receiving bank i have to pay also. well its only 100 usd still... and then manage the shipping. hehe... maybe one day theres a gorgeus ups officer bringing me something to put my hands on to. ??? at least i hope so. ;-)

christmas coming early? part 2

i got a pair of the famous karpiola race axles, and they really came in time... the problem seems to be that for a small company like karpiola bros, its not so easy to make so many axles that would sell (probably) but they are payed, and at my hands. :-) so whats missing? well...a transmission that can take the punishment? well ...its coming from rancho performance... (rancho seems to be THE transmission shop) :-) check them out...
