need for speed part 2

 this time we visited räyskälä airfield, test & tune - drag races. But with the karmann ghia, as i haven't been able to test it at the strip at all. well it was a cool day, but disappointing for the time slips. as my best was the first pass. 14.1 @ 166 km/h. the engine shakes a lot, tires loose the traction... at the first attempt. 

second is worse, doesn't go to the second gear as the engine shakes more. so the time was baaaad.

third pass was easier on the start, as i wanted more grip. but, at the second gear clutch was toasted, third gear same, and the fourth too. that was around 16 sec. 

but now i know that what i have to do. for the next season. a lot of things. :-) will see. the day was one of the best of this year. as was the kiikala burn out party 2025. i need more practice, and a good plan. But fellow vw enthusiast, you need to get to the strip. there's not many. :-( 

AEM - in da house

The Aeromotive a1000 didn't last that long, so i had to buy a new fuel pump, 

lets see how this will survive?

very fast to assemble, and works right away.

so far so good.

also managed to sell couple of old karmann ghia parts. 

This panel van was the clients van. huh. pretty cool.

my ghia looks really good in (p. laitinen´s) shiny white garage...

its getting together nicely...

1. Hell yeah! how many times you see a real rod with winter tyres?

this 32 ford had them, i raise my hat for this, no trailer queens...

maybe some of the vw´s should drive more...no matter if its cloudy...

this Rolls Royce Silver shadow was the show stopper for me, 

wow, absolutely a "bonkers" classic. i love the dare to be different -way!

anyways, the show was packed with lots of companys that don´t 

belong to ACS, from reindeer skin to some wooden building seller...

over 50% of the show is crap, for me, but there are some good stuff also.

if i was FHRA, i would concentrate to cars, with show quality, race cars, 

cars with attitude or similar back to the roots feeling...pure things, 

and not anymore with this "take the money and run -way"... :-)

trip to kangasniemi :-)

A car loaded with porsche engine + parts, and

 2 dudes, me an Mika Ritvos, went to Kangasniemi (a pretty fast trip this time).

have to make another trip ...pretty soon. :-)

well anyways, i was pretty delighted to see my Black ghia, 

looking so fine and allmost ready.

the weld magnums looks, like million bucks!

the hole in the "lid" didnt look that bad at all. 

actally it looked pretty nice

i can imagine how people will comment this view.

have to  get it to the street somehow @ 2012

looks so nice.

plus the best part is that its not slammed to the ground, 

it has a suspension for street driving.

this little pig just waits for the better days, calmly, 

even there is couple of interested buyers out there.

the wether was so nice that i thought that i could take this home. :-)

needs a wash. and sidewindows, and some smaller parts.

its been a looooong way with this car.

welll, no use, these are for the RSR 911 project, but who knows, 

i´m fast to change my mind. ehehehe.
