everything is broken, a bit...

 ok, my Audi broken, the axle... and it didn't move anymore...

so i thought i use the wbx bug, but after a while, there started to be some electric problems, like suddenly all the electrics were gone... ok, i started to search for a loose connection, and i think i found it, it stopped, but suddenly the starter stopped to operate. i got a bit frustrated with that...so i took the bug to somero, to rest in a barn. well i took the museum registered plymouth duster instead...

it works like a it should. BUT when i was trying to get to the inspection, something broke in the rear axle. 

similar like in the Quattro audi, this didn't move at all... my friends Musse towed us to the cottage.

i was so frustrated that i finished the AUDI axle replacement to the front axle. and boy i was exhausted.

now the audi works... that's good. some good of this ... and the buggy's starter has some issues... and the dodge pickup has a broken brake hose... and ... i don't know. im a bit tired

WBX Oil change - makes you crazy

 Easy jobs "oil change" what could go wrong... well First tried to take the oil plug off, it is a bit different than in a basic type 1 engine. and i didn't have a correct tool for that, i bought one universal plug too, but there's no correct tool for this plug. so i made one from a bolt & couple nuts. that helped, then i took of the  oil filter... let that drain, ...ok now i have new oil for this engine and a new filter. BUT the filter won't fit, as the exhaust is not original. ok, back to home and another day, another filter, from a vw polo - a small one.

ok now the oil is in and the filter too. but the engine makes lots of louder noises... so the lifters might be empty of oil. i ran the engine arounfd 5 minutes... its still there. ok next time i have to run it harder and longer, then it might be silent again and smooth. i had same crap happening with the dodge v8, ticking and other noises. that was fixed with more oil and running. - these pesky hydraulic lifters. :-)

problems with the daily drivers...

 As the Audi a4 quattro is on the service, i thought it would be a good idea to drive the wbx bug. 

but some thing was bothering the bug, it had "bugs" always running the choke on. and didn't want to run good at any gears. stalled also in many places... But now its much better, 1. i started to change the plugs, and as you can se they look pretty dark. then i checked that the coolant is vanished...  but i haven't seen where's the spot that leaks. i put all i got, and bought today more from motonet. i also have new oil filter and 5 liters of oil. but have to change those this week... what i also did, i assembled the air temperature sender to the intake filter... so it should work better than before. there's still work, as i have to fix the leaking exhaust and maybe check the heater connections, so that it blows more to the front window....well there's always thing to do. studded wintertyres would be great also, as the little bug goes too easily sideways, almost twice the power and loads of torque... :-)

looks a bit black, have to buy some extra plugs to the wbx, 

but the problem is always, they ask what's the engine, 

what's the plate number?

i made it to the doctor today, and see my mom too, 

and autopelti hytönen too, and motonet etc...

malmi cruising 1.9.2023

 went there with the wasserboxer bug, but sadly, talked too much and the result is that don't have much of pictures... but what can i say. way too good happening... loads of cars, and great people.

problems with the wasser-boxer...

WOT is not always a good thing, especially in the traffic...and in the city traffic. I got a stuck throttle suddenly many times till i couldn't drive the bug. i got it to the garage, and started to locate the trouble... 

1. i was thinking that a old throttle can't be that tight after many years of use, so i dismantled some parts, and i was pretty sure that the problem is the TPS, but no. it was the 3D printed parts. way too tight fitment. 

but this should be easy to repair? lets see. i have to shave some material of the bracket, and then try to put back on their places again - yikes! will se how this turns out. but you learn by doing stuff... to be continued.

wbx bug - here and therewbx,

This thing seems to like driving, and goes like a go-kart, runs easily 120 km/h. 

starts, stops and goes!have to put the audi on hold, maybe to the painter, and some bushings has to be changed. so its time to enjoy the bug.

 

Fuchs wheel (copy) gets new paint

 Had to mask / paint the last wheel, so that i could get the winter tires under. and whats best, i might get a chrome bumper to the front, with the blinker of course. damn, this little bug is getting pretty. have to locate the center caps to the wheels also. and some chromed bolts. and a rear seat too...and what else?

The spring is coming!!!!

 Had to go to the garage, and try to do something. so i started to paint the winter wheel setup, as the snow might be melting... heh, better late than...i also grabbed the Aircooled.fi turbo exhaust with me to the garage, to show it to a fellow vw-nutcase. Im not sure, if its wise to test fit the turbo-setup to the wbx engine, but it sure is tempting. I'm afraid to snap a bolt or something, as the bug is inspected and totally working. it only would need to be driven. Nothing ever goes like intended, so this could end into something that aint so funny. lets see how things will proceed.
