moving on, from the old...

to the new garage...

last midsummer at the cottage.

this place is going to be history, i will move forward, 

to a more suitable place, for my cars.

but maybe somewhere in the lohja-region... who knows.

there's many things to do.

2 hours job in 3 days. the wbx clutch

 Ok, you would guess that changing a clutch cable is easy job, but this one was horrible.

as there are many wires, brackets, and stuff in that place where the wing-nut is located.

everything else went like a charm, but getting the wing nut back to the wire was pain in the butt. 

had to make a special tool to be able to tighten the nut, but now there's the 2 cm play in the clutch pedal, and its working better than before, but a new problem came, as the exhaust took a hit from a door stopper, and baaam, the header is bent again. ill try to fix it tomorrow...

wbx bug works again!

 i went to somero, with some new battery cables etc to fix that pesky little bug, nutlike i earlier thought, that the problem is with the ground, so i dismantled the battery cable and put wire back in the cable shoe, and the extra wires very tight, and suddenly there was power in the battery. and now it even starts, and runs, and i drove it. i also made it to the cottage, and it was the best day, in a month. yesterday, i picked up a turn signal switch, but looks like it isn't like the original part. but have to check youtube for some help. 

if i got it working again - that might be the biggest issue for that bug, one brake bulb needs to be changed too, and the exhaust needs some welding but then its inspection time. and the turbo kit is getting better all the time. but that's another story.

 both of these needs some action. the red one needs the front brake, assembled at the garage, and then back to the cottage. to put it in its place. i don't like the cold weather and working outside. but got to do that, then its done. and as i drive a audi quattro, i can even come back from the cottage, the down hill to the cottage is a bit icy and slippery. and good news with the orange bug, as the transmission is good and ready,  so it might be best to get the bug from cottage to more suitable place to change the gearbox. more of that later. have to go to garage now. ciao!

sounds like a bee with rabies. :-)

but have to make this work. looks like these are kelsey hayes brakes...

us-parts came to rescue.

its getting colder...

the dodge disc brakes are still having bugs. 

so i took one off and try to get that working today.

this bug has also some problems, 

with the front brakes, but i will fix them too but later on.

WBX Oil change - makes you crazy

 Easy jobs "oil change" what could go wrong... well First tried to take the oil plug off, it is a bit different than in a basic type 1 engine. and i didn't have a correct tool for that, i bought one universal plug too, but there's no correct tool for this plug. so i made one from a bolt & couple nuts. that helped, then i took of the  oil filter... let that drain, ...ok now i have new oil for this engine and a new filter. BUT the filter won't fit, as the exhaust is not original. ok, back to home and another day, another filter, from a vw polo - a small one.

ok now the oil is in and the filter too. but the engine makes lots of louder noises... so the lifters might be empty of oil. i ran the engine arounfd 5 minutes... its still there. ok next time i have to run it harder and longer, then it might be silent again and smooth. i had same crap happening with the dodge v8, ticking and other noises. that was fixed with more oil and running. - these pesky hydraulic lifters. :-)

there's something wrong in the audi, also in the rear axle.

have to get better pics, but that is not the only one.

looks like the transmission has to be taken out, to get one part of

maybe it would be vise to change the whole clutch too...?

I'm happy to have a mini-me that can make things 

while I'm totally exhausted. Jimi helped me to take the j-pipe off 

- after that it was easier to fix the leaking exhaust

we had to augment the rear suspension, but we were 

adjusting it somewhere 2 centimeters.

its better but needs to be higher at the winter.

maybe its time to think serious - about the turbokit...

 

i´ve got a new package

are you trying to Find repair parts for a transmission with liberty gears? A very hard task ...1.31 keyed 4th gear to a liberty gear package... around 15 inquiries to different companys... + to famous racers too. huh. finally found them from dave folts - usa. thanks for dave, the transmission project might be progressing...

and this transmission is coming to the orange bug. 

malmi cruising 1.9.2023

 went there with the wasserboxer bug, but sadly, talked too much and the result is that don't have much of pictures... but what can i say. way too good happening... loads of cars, and great people.
