Breaking the bus ;-)

Well only a bit... The inspector wasnt happy with the non braking emergencybrake... So nothing helps but cleaning the parts. Otherwise they seems to work

A big surprise!

A big thanks to keiteleen kone, to stock these... For a sixties type 2, a brake pedal spring and a speedometer wire, and 12 v bulbs for the speedo. You dont find these in many places... :-) im happy!

Everything needs a stroker.... :-)

Im checking out the parts for my stroker build up. And if mr. Laitinen has some time, i would like to have two things to be done for the block... One of them would be the porsche oil-squirters...
...but i can live without them also :-/ the 84 stroker crank needs also new "8-stud-job"
Im still going to use a fk 8 cam, and mild compression, just "in case"...  Of a turbo...

Veljekset hämärä - shady brothers type 2 tweaking

Went to the cottage, with the bus, to fix some annoying problems, and at least now i know wheres the problem, the brake pedal spring is broken... Got to get one from somewhere, i repaired it with a different spring in another place, and i did also some smaller tweaks, the van goes pretty great... 
But it still needs a faster engine... ;-) i decided to give more attention to the old trusty van, it sure needs some love!

Cruising night, 6/2014

First we had to assemble jimis zombie-bmx-bike and then stuff it in a bug, and then go to the krem-a-que to meet other aircooled vw nuts, and boy was it cool this time? Sun was shining, lots of cool vw's and even a live band playing from mika r's 1960 type-2...  Im sorry that this time i didnt take picks that much, but my little darling lili wanted to watch teletubbies, so no picks... But some at least... Next time more picks.

Heading for a better turbo-system....

Thanks to some swapping of things, i got a new hideaway turbo kit for the ghia, and it looks promising, not 100% ready, but close enough, the turbo got green light from the turbo-repair shop, they thought that " its a big one, ..this is for a vw engine?? " are u serious???? YES i am, i will only clean it up...
I had to test it for the new turbo header, and it looks greeeeat! It needs a a 30-40 degree elbow-adapter, but anyways, this setup can use a cooler also, ;-) oh yeah! ...To be contiuned...









Searching for a good turbo (for the ghia)

I have this garrett from the pauter 86x94 to use in the black ghia, but i will go to show it in a repairshop, if it needs anything...if its ok, i will try to get the cb hideaway turbo header today, and also try to sell stuff to get an autotune ecu, ... asap. The black ghia needs these. The system that there is right now, seems to be too small for the combo. :-/

Turbo Ghia - searching for bugs ;-)

I drove to kangasniemi to tear the fan apart, ( the fan was busted and it turned freely, even when the engine was not running... ) and to change for a better part... And after few hours i was able to test drive the ghia again, with my co-pilot (7-years old)  jimi... Jimi was very eager to get the ghia for a small spin, and when i got it to the third gear, and for some boost, the little boy was dead silent... Ok, some bugs made me stop the test, but it was worth the trip, because of jimis reactions before and after...
When getting back to the garage, jimi was able to get in to the tracktor with mr. Laitinen, and for a little boy, that tracktor drive was even cooler than the ghia ride... ;-) 


Theres some issues in the car that has to be fixed... But that will be another story... 
Btw, the car is now allmost "silent" after the fan-fix, getting better, but not in the "finish-line" yet. 





I will hope that we will get the bux out from the ghia... And...there will be a ballbearing hairdryer and a autotune or similar in the future... The car is looking good anyways!

Driving my turbo ghia for the first time!

This was the best day for ages! I drove to kangasniemi - to change the oil pump cover to to my turbo ghia...a csp cover, that has a valve did the trick and now it has normal oil pressures... Wow.
We got the engine running but it was smoking like hell, which was a bit a dissapointment, but i went for a small spin for test the other stuff... The best part was that the oil pressures were ok, and the smoke was gone after a couple of minutes driving. The rancho drag race gear box worked fine, and the rest of the car was allmost civilized, sort of... ;-)
I tested the third gear and the gauge was showing around one bar of boost, ... Yeeeeha! The kawell turbo setup from the stone age works fine! I dont know how fast i was going... Heheh....
There was some issues though, like one burned fuse, and the oil cap is missing now, and the fan is history also, but we managed to get the car back at the garage, and im on my way to home...
What a day, i feel better than james brown...!
