doctor, doctor, my exhaust is leaking...

I dont remember that i have taken the engine out of the van....ever.

i saw that the engine has a lightened flywheel.

and some small thing to improve. 

The old header and silencer....well they might need some welding.

we took the engine to Hasse H´s. garage, 

so that the broken header studs could be taken care off.

somehow, hasse got the thing fixed and even the header on its place.

now we need a short oililter, around 7 cm tall.

After this im gonna put some new filters to the carbs 

and the engine will get some service too.

Have to say that this has been the best vw engine ever.

hopefully it will stand 10 years more - of fast driving.

the header needs the cooling tin to be 

cut a little bit - to fit the j-pipes correctly

28 degrees celcius - made this job a bit harder.

got to inspect if this old setup is re-usable...

one engine - fits all. :-)

Things happen...

Good and bad, 

The bad first: 

1. been in a hospital due to the heart problems, and have to go back for some surgery, but in before that, i ve got to put the plenums back to the turbo-ghia, and light stuff like that.

2. The rothmans racing panel van, has some rust issues, and needs repairs to the steering area too, but i've been getting help from k.tallgren, and i'm happy with that, will be better after this.

3. Everything comes in the worst situation, BUT im used in that. :-)

The good:

1. got the plenums back for the ghia. Yeeha! Mr. Laitinen from kangasniemi got them fixed, and now i can put them back, and bolt many parts back to the ghia. More of that later...

2. Will be getting fuel rails a bit later, but they will be even better than before.

3. The stroker will be great, when i get the missing parts like ida--superflo manifolds & valve covers.

4. I might get a third heart surgery/operation and maybe be in a better shape pretty soon.

doing things with the JIMI -The hammerhead!

JIMI had a hard day, first hammering everything that he found, 

then inspecting the bottom of the ghia with my brother aarni, after that he had to eat all the food, to get in the cinema watching disneys, cars 2, in tennispalatsi cinema...but before that he was "thinking really hard" at the bus, as you can see...he said that he wasnt sleeping - he was just thinking really hard. :-)

ok, we made it to the cinema, we met JIMIS friend emppu and his dad timo, (thanks for the movie again i owe oyou guys one)  ...and as you can see, he was excited, but in the half of the movie he said that he wants to go out... ok, first time at the movies... tough place for a 4 years old.

ill give 3 stars from the movie, the 1st is better. 

forssa pick-nick 2011

some picks of interesting cars and other stuff from Forssa pic-nick 2011. it was pretty great, the weather was good, and the little boy was also happy, we were there with veljekset hämärä (twilight brothers in english) rothmans racing vw panel van, and that was the first time to me with a "show car" if i remember it correctly. correct if im wrong. the panel looked to be in the right place in there. in euro park. have to say that the europark didnt make that much of impression, but the rods and customs and especially the muscle cars steals the show. Forssa pick nick is a great show, with a great swap meet. you can find loads of unesessary stuff in there... :-) next time - see you in there! hey the paruzzi clan was also there!
