some upgrade at the garage...

 cutting, grinding, fitting, and  cutting, grinding, fitting, 

well getting somewhere anyways. looks better, but the throttle bores are still missing.

and the header for the turbo won't fit with that massive oil pump. 



and this turbo engine is a 76x94 oxyboxer


this on is a 2332cc basic stroker

Power to the people -The Bus Engine is almost ready


After the fast cruise with silver "that sun" we headed to the garage to see my project engine.
theres nothing really special in it, but some parts that i have managed to collect, a new stroker block from Paruzzi.fi, a new FK8 cam, a old 84 Scat, + old school porsche H-profile rods, aa-perf 94 p/c kit,    11,5 C/R, E85 sipping... old race super flows from a 11 sec race bug, manifolds from Aircooled.fi ...and from the Lauffers / vwparadise i got these 48 mm butterflies with the air cleaners etc...

now i need a good flowing exhaust, plus some minor parts... but looks like there will be a potent Bus-motor to really get the panel van moving. and because of the fact that these are not the all out parts that i would have, i would guess that this might be the engine that could be driven, even in the traffic jams. hope so. got to get jimi from the school someday. :-)

Things happen...

Good and bad, 
The bad first: 
1. been in a hospital due to the heart problems, and have to go back for some surgery, but in before that, i ve got to put the plenums back to the turbo-ghia, and light stuff like that.
2. The rothmans racing panel van, has some rust issues, and needs repairs to the steering area too, but i've been getting help from k.tallgren, and i'm happy with that, will be better after this.
3. Everything comes in the worst situation, BUT im used in that. :-)

The good:
1. got the plenums back for the ghia. Yeeha! Mr. Laitinen from kangasniemi got them fixed, and now i can put them back, and bolt many parts back to the ghia. More of that later...
2. Will be getting fuel rails a bit later, but they will be even better than before.
3. The stroker will be great, when i get the missing parts like ida--superflo manifolds & valve covers.
4. I might get a third heart surgery/operation and maybe be in a better shape pretty soon.

X-mas coming... And coming ;-)

This time came some smaller parts, superflow-ida manifolds, oilpump cover with pressure valve and linkage, thanks for aircooled.fi! Looks great! Now i only need some 48 carbs. Whats next in line? The bearings etc from keiteleen kone. Then i would guess that its time for some serious assembly... Yikes!

KARMANN GHIA 61 ...no cuts no glory






to fit the kawell turbo set up, i had to cut the karmann ghia a bit.
not that much, but a small snip snap from the back.
looking great.

another route would be to swap for the 912 engine.
it would be really cool looking in the engine bay, but not the hot ticket in the strip. the 912 engine is for sale now.

BADkarma2

After the paint, the ghia is heading to kangasniemi, with the engine and hopefully with the kawell turbo-setup, the " sketch " is a bright black low KG, with a new interior, ercos with a 2,3 liter turbo-engine. show & GO!
if everything goes well, its happening "next year" (slug´s trademark) ;-)

The KID!



Jimi was born in 09.06.2007, and he has been checking out for the bigger toys...but maybe next year he will be taller...to reach for the handlebars...Jimi will have many to play around, if he will like ´em.

Annika didnt like the panel van that much, maybe i was driving too fast , and playing around too much, but i hope JIMI will like it!

In the Harley side, jimi still needs some 1/2 meters more of legs to controll the bike. :-)
but the attitude was right. thanks for Jussi halonen to take the picture.

Rothmans panelvan is on the road!



the brakes are from Porsche, and they are awesome. its a blast to drive, but it needs a bit more power, at least 100 hp. i had a matchrace with valtteri "automatic" santala, and i won the races. second time...heheh.

(that beige panel is not santala´s)
