horror with the ghia

 as i have been hunting for the leaking places from the turbo-engine, it has been a really knuckle busting job, but one of the intake manifold is coming apart, (i guess that i will get it back one day) and trying to figure out how to glue it together, with something that really holds up. any suggestions?



everything looked good under valve covers... 
and no loose parts...




im helping JIMI with his kawasaki kx85, so 
JIMI helps me with the ghia occasionally... :-)

Winter is coming - AGAIN!








 The summer was short in Finland, as always. but i really enjoyed it. And as my plans change like always, this time i didn't change the clutch to my panel van, and i didn't change to the alternator, but maybe at 2023 if we are in some kind of shape. so the DODGE, PLYMOUTH and VW panel van is now sleeping at somero, its a long, cold, twisty and a very dark road to the somero, but we made it, even with the summer tyres, bad lights, no heater and - 1 degrees...

taking the ghia for a spin.

that ghia is a fun little car, the co-pilot was wondering if the clutch slips, 
and also that the engine broke down, but I'm happy that 
it didn't brake down, only couple oil lines got hurt. have to change for new ones.
they were only breather hoses, so now oil pressure problems...
but the engine runs and the clutch is ok.
i haven't accelerated with the 4th gear, only throught 1-2-and 3rd gears.

it wouldn't hurt to get money, and take this to the dyno, and later on to the inspection.
also re-tighten parts and check for the leaks in the intake manifold too...

The "dark side" ghia...update

A minor one, sadly. But i started to put pieces back and make a small list that i have to get to the engine bay of the black ghia. The hoses are tightly secured and next will be assembly of the exhaust with new gaskets with some sealent, then might be the time for the plenums and the fuel distribution...etc... To be continued.



Getting in the gear, with the cool ghia



Driving could be much easier with working gears, at least one reverse gear. 
So after many times to try to adjust the old school shifter, i gave up and started to dig up the real problem, i found out that the shift rod had any bushing left, and the joint to the hockey stick was waiting for retirement, ok, i took out the shift rod and the joint, 

After cleaning & oiling the shift rod, i started to put it back, but it wasnt a one hour job, ok, had to buy a magnetic pick up tool also, ... Ok, i got the parts back on, but had to modifie the joint area a bit.

But this thing really helped and now the gears are like they should be, so if you got problems to engage gears, check these areas first.  Now it feels like i could go racing with it. 

Now theres only 99 jobs to do ;-)
