need for speed part 2

 this time we visited räyskälä airfield, test & tune - drag races. But with the karmann ghia, as i haven't been able to test it at the strip at all. well it was a cool day, but disappointing for the time slips. as my best was the first pass. 14.1 @ 166 km/h. the engine shakes a lot, tires loose the traction... at the first attempt. 

second is worse, doesn't go to the second gear as the engine shakes more. so the time was baaaad.

third pass was easier on the start, as i wanted more grip. but, at the second gear clutch was toasted, third gear same, and the fourth too. that was around 16 sec. 

but now i know that what i have to do. for the next season. a lot of things. :-) will see. the day was one of the best of this year. as was the kiikala burn out party 2025. i need more practice, and a good plan. But fellow vw enthusiast, you need to get to the strip. there's not many. :-(

a great day at kiikala burn out party 2025, even the times were bad.
but its a good start...last time at the strip, around 20 years ago.

last midsummer at the cottage.

this place is going to be history, i will move forward, 
to a more suitable place, for my cars.
but maybe somewhere in the lohja-region... who knows.
there's many things to do.

2 hours job in 3 days. the wbx clutch

 Ok, you would guess that changing a clutch cable is easy job, but this one was horrible.

as there are many wires, brackets, and stuff in that place where the wing-nut is located.

everything else went like a charm, but getting the wing nut back to the wire was pain in the butt. 

had to make a special tool to be able to tighten the nut, but now there's the 2 cm play in the clutch pedal, and its working better than before, but a new problem came, as the exhaust took a hit from a door stopper, and baaam, the header is bent again. ill try to fix it tomorrow...

let the plenum work begin! wbx upgrade...

Now i have the parts, thanks to, Sarlin race team, KKD, Marko Paajanen,
 Kotten...and soon Mr. welder M. Lindgren.
Christmas's came early. ok, there's a lot to do, but at least the parts are here. :-)
BTW the manifold is just for mock-up. the real ones are at the garage.
