that pesky fuel.

 well the dodge hasn't been running that well, and as its normally some trash in the carb, i took the carb away, and dismantled it again. and the fuel has like chrystals, but soft. i don't know what happens, but now i have two fuel filters inline, and i bought some chemical to stop the problems with the fuel. this could work, the 360 v8 runs pretty much ok now. :-) and now i can try to fix the brakes... before the snow. i hope.

last midsummer at the cottage.

this place is going to be history, i will move forward, 

to a more suitable place, for my cars.

but maybe somewhere in the lohja-region... who knows.

 both of these needs some action. the red one needs the front brake, assembled at the garage, and then back to the cottage. to put it in its place. i don't like the cold weather and working outside. but got to do that, then its done. and as i drive a audi quattro, i can even come back from the cottage, the down hill to the cottage is a bit icy and slippery. and good news with the orange bug, as the transmission is good and ready,  so it might be best to get the bug from cottage to more suitable place to change the gearbox. more of that later. have to go to garage now. ciao!

Dodge D100 "ex-town panel"

 

i wanted to go to the Lahnajärvi cruising with the dodge, 

so i would see what needs to be taken care of, to get this pickup to the inspection.

the carburetor is fine now, and the engine runs smoothly.

when i started the trip from somero to saukkola...

the brake pedal went down. there's some brake power but not much.

have to check for leaks, and take care of bleeding as well.

the engine temp meter didn't work... and the engine started to make noises...

well i got safely to our cottage, but there's something to work out.

Winter is coming - AGAIN!

 The summer was short in Finland, as always. but i really enjoyed it. And as my plans change like always, this time i didn't change the clutch to my panel van, and i didn't change to the alternator, but maybe at 2023 if we are in some kind of shape. so the DODGE, PLYMOUTH and VW panel van is now sleeping at somero, its a long, cold, twisty and a very dark road to the somero, but we made it, even with the summer tyres, bad lights, no heater and - 1 degrees...

back to the basics.

Due to the fact that the "17 inch wheels" needs a lower suspension, we will go NOW with the 15" wheels. its old school and maybe goes more straight. there might be a inspection try-out this week, and hopefully a permission to drive this thing after 15 years hibernation... it looks 80´s style. its not my cup of tea, but i can live with that. ...more to come.

Helsinki-pietarsaari-helsinki

Had to drive v8 the 66 Dodge Pick-Up, from the cottage to Ojakkala, to my brothers place, so that we can put it on a trailer and head to the Pori City (around 245 km from my apartment). The Dodge had problems to over charge with 16.18 volts... but because it was getting dark, the alternator worked differently. I got around 10 volts... heh. So i had to drive without the lights part of the trip to have some electric to ignite the fuel. :-( i got to my brothers yard, and there it stopped, But it was exciting. that little red express truck goes pretty good. and after the electrical problems has been solved i would expect even more "rapid transit" :-) heck, i don't know the engine size, but in the tittle it is 5.6 liters, but i would guess that its a 5.2. maybe it will be better identified later on.

1. we got to the Pori and left the Dodge to a Mopar enthusiast place to get some treatment...
then we headed to M.Koivisto´s (a professional welder and a race-vw-pervert) garage. some 126 km away.

2. We picked up my 86x101.6 block and other stroker parts...and checked the ultra cool garage and projects that are going on... its always nice to see whats going on and talk to the guys that really know their stuff. Mikko has this race vw with type 1 - 2,8 liters 10 sec engine... that used to be Tomi Seppäläs old street engine. it still looked awesome. this combo is for sale if you have spare money...

3. after this we headed to pietarsaari (some 177 km away) ...there we met a nice vw-guy,
mr. Tom Lundberg.
One of the fellow travelers, Hasse Holmström had difficulties to see in the darkness, because he wanted to buy this vw type-4 variant. heh, some kind of "flintstones 412 model". Ok, this is the bonneville special model - theres no wind resistance, the air flows through the car ...easily. :-)
or maybe this is the crotch cooler maximum model? and this car had to be wrapped, so that the loose parts don't drop... :-) good luck with the project.

4. mr T. Lundberg has a beautiful house with lots of nice old stuff, and loads of old vw´s and who knows, maybe we will go for a third time for coffee and some awesome apple pie.

5. the wrapped up "condom-wagen" emptied its guts to Isojoki city, and after that ended to a garage in veikkola. huh, i took my parts to helsinki city...and they are still in the car. :-) I'm still a bit tired of the trip... :-)
