This time came some smaller parts, superflow-ida manifolds, oilpump cover with pressure valve and linkage, thanks for aircooled.fi! Looks great! Now i only need some 48 carbs. Whats next in line? The bearings etc from keiteleen kone. Then i would guess that its time for some serious assembly... Yikes!

I got a new block, ready for a stroker axle, ready for 94mm p/c kit, and ready for full flow, yeeeha! Thanks for the paruzzi.fi ... This is inspiring, i started instantly to check the crank etc.... And what misses for the moment.... To be contiuned

The cosmetic surgery for the ghia started at m. Sarkelas garage at mantsala city, and as we thought the ghia needs a bit of tin work ;-) but its at the good hands of welding wizard mika. This ghia was bought from texas, couple of years ago, and i have to admit that they know the art of "bondoing" :-) the body has a lot of bondo, aluminium tape, screws, awfull tin repairs, and rust... But theres also positive stuff, under the bondo layers, anyways, the layout for the "bond-shell"
Is something that only frankenstein would love, as a car... Lets see how it turns out.

Thanks to tomi seppälä and jyrki laune, we got this block apart, no surprises in here, just clean parts with oil. Pauter block, pauter crank, pauter rods... The cam is a mysterious one, no codes what so ever, but i bought tomis pauter turbocam... A roller cam. Next we have to have a good shover...

After couple of hours of wrenching, i got the parts back and now we have a working rear suspension, ok i might change the rear shock absorbers to stiffer ones, the rear feels a bit "soft" i'll check what i have. Also the engine is making me a bit worried, should i swap it to a 1600 "trasher" engine, will see bout that, i really would like to put a stroker in it, but i dont have any to put there for the moment, the strokers are mostly parts... :-/

... Not ecxactly, i just have to raisen up the rear of the ghia,
because with the engine i cant get it out of the garage, so i have to
make it more driveable... The passenger side brakes are now pretty much ok,
so i have to turn the car around. ;-)

Last time at the cottage, i wanted to stuff the engine to the ghia, its a "trash bin 12-hundred" so not much of expectations here, but im just doing these things to amuse myself... I dont know anything of this engine, but it turns, so thats something atleast. I had a new pressure bearing so i sacrifised that to this project, and it was a good decision, the used one was toasted. What i have to do also is to raise the rear because the rear suspension is useless, too low to drive, and it will stuck in places... I would like to put winter tyres and try this sled in the icy roads.... But anyways its fun to do things. To be continued...

This is an easy task, to fix the brakes, as i have new brake parts in the boxes, the winter is coming so its no use really, but i want to do this to feel better.
Theres not much of brake fluid in the system, but that makes sence, previous owner in california told that it was a car for the wife ;-) heh, totally rusted floors and no brakes, except the hand brake.
Whats next after the brakes?
There is a 1200cc "montster" :-) waiting...
I hope the next updates will concentrate to the black ghia... But thats a new story ;-)
