slow progress, but getting better

I try to fix the leaks, the intake manifold has now 

better silicone hoses and clamps too, from Autosiliconehoses

but there's still things to do especially with the turbo header

The copper gaskets has been swapped to a different solution...

if they do not work, then have to change to the copper ones

In this picture you can see new copper nuts, 

one a bit burned oil hose, and the ASH silicone hoses & clamps too.

not so much space under the ghia. :-)

 

smoke detector detected.

Bought a smoke detector from amazon.com, 

and i was surprised that it really works and helps too.

its actually very helpful. this has been used on the turbo-ghia.

found couple of places that leaks. in the intake and the exhaust too.

the inspection is still on progress...

 

 

project 1915cc stormer

 This might be the smallest vw engine in my place for the moment. 

we got the engine running, but the carb leaked some, so we have to get a new one.

and the engine tins also, and a better muffler too. 

i got the ghia also back to the garage. 

taking the ghia for a spin.

that ghia is a fun little car, the co-pilot was wondering if the clutch slips, 

and also that the engine broke down, but I'm happy that 

it didn't brake down, only couple oil lines got hurt. have to change for new ones.

they were only breather hoses, so now oil pressure problems...

but the engine runs and the clutch is ok.

i haven't accelerated with the 4th gear, only throught 1-2-and 3rd gears.

it wouldn't hurt to get money, and take this to the dyno, and later on to the inspection.

also re-tighten parts and check for the leaks in the intake manifold too...

 

new turbo - a garrett GT(X)35R

love it, this is for my black ghia, made for that engine. Tial turbine housing, will be great to see if this engine will get some extra UUMPH... later on of this. ;-)

Small happenings & things

No big things, just some studless winter tyres on the fuchs wannabe-wheels, for some snow action, hopefully with a video too... maybe they will fit the blue ghia? Got to paint them a bit...

Ugly duckling, testing

Had to test a color that has been on my mind, silver paint mixed with black paste.

should be flat, will see... but the color is great. atleast for this.

if only the other side would be welded...and the front too... :-(

but, Boys will be boys...this was a fun experiment.

i made some things to the stroker too...

Forssa Pick-nick 2016

We had a great day with my son Jimi, because we went to Forssa Pick-nick! awesome cars, great weather & loads of nice people. My panelvan worked fine, and we didn't have any problems, and after that we drove to somero, to eat ice cream and have a good time. my brother had his GHIA and we also swapped cars so that we can experience different kind of v-dubs.

selling parts to buy services - 4 ghia

sometimes you just have top get rid of the "jewels" to get in a better speed. like now, i just put the 1968 911 S-block and 911 S-curved vertex magneto, heads, crank ... and some other stuff 4 sale. some interest is already. also for the other block that i have... will see, if i get a good price, i could take the black ghia to autotune, right now. :-) for the finish of the project...and dyno time.

but while waiting miracles to happen, i will fix this light blue vert ghia... the cuurrent thing with it, has been changing to better looking cooling...and it already looks much cleaner. n´est pas?

the panel van will get new parking brake shoes, hopefully tomorrow. 

if things goes well. and the inspection is also pretty soon. 

Things happen...

Good and bad, 

The bad first: 

1. been in a hospital due to the heart problems, and have to go back for some surgery, but in before that, i ve got to put the plenums back to the turbo-ghia, and light stuff like that.

2. The rothmans racing panel van, has some rust issues, and needs repairs to the steering area too, but i've been getting help from k.tallgren, and i'm happy with that, will be better after this.

3. Everything comes in the worst situation, BUT im used in that. :-)

The good:

1. got the plenums back for the ghia. Yeeha! Mr. Laitinen from kangasniemi got them fixed, and now i can put them back, and bolt many parts back to the ghia. More of that later...

2. Will be getting fuel rails a bit later, but they will be even better than before.

3. The stroker will be great, when i get the missing parts like ida--superflo manifolds & valve covers.

4. I might get a third heart surgery/operation and maybe be in a better shape pretty soon.
