VW´s in need!

My friend Mika, called for help, because he had lost his 1960 vw busses fan belt, on its way to my cottage, for an other job, so now we had to first to drive to the cottage, then dismantle the stuff & a car from the trailer, then locate i right fan belt. i wasn't that eager to take it off ...of the turbo ghia. but i found a new one. some people calls me Jyrp market, because i have too much shit at many places. well we went to see mika to a gas station to ...save his butt. Jesus saves... and sometimes i can do that also ;-) ...(and i even put on its place.) huh what a day indeed.

Pick´n Up a Dodge

When i was a kid there was 2 guys with Dodge Town Panels, tearing up the pavement...adjusting the engines...and smoking the tires at helsinki city...i had a bicycle, they had their ex-police cars. that have been hounding me years. well i just got home from the pick up trip. what a great trip, to the Kotka City. Kotka means an Eagle. this Dodge has been converted to a pick up. has a V8, that should be a 5.59 liter engine...sounds like a 340 !!! it also has an open diff 8 3/4 so it has all the right stuff. frees the tires also. but the sound is soooo great. I absolutely love that pick up, its also painted, welded and has plenty of new stuff. and today, to get it to the trailer, we had to swap these ice track tires. and it looks bad asss.... ts time to clean up the yard also. to get rid of the vw racing parts and some vw-s too, but not all. gotta go back to the cottage to play with the P-U.  the dodge was happy to run and smoke tires, but the audi was not on my side.

1 crazy thing to tell about the trip is that my new audi, that i bought from a swedish car dealer, seems to have some minor problems, like when you have 2000 kilos of steel in a tow hook, occasionally you will not go faster than 60-90 kilometer per hour in a highway...damn those eGR and shit like that. Gotta get id of those. and more power and...

new turbo - a garrett GT(X)35R

love it, this is for my black ghia, made for that engine. Tial turbine housing, will be great to see if this engine will get some extra UUMPH... later on of this. ;-)

The long drooled 101.6 cylinders are in da house. aa-perf. but still, this will take my 86x101.6 project forward...the blind cb bubble top block, rods, engle-cam, 86 new crank are waiting for this... yeeha!

Garrett turbo, getting better...

While testing the leaking off the turboparts at autotune.fi, i saw that the turbochargers cold side was leaking, so i thought that theres a broken o-ring inside, but when dismantling that turbo, i found out that theres no gasket at all, and looks like there should be some glue on the threads too... but after these tricks, its interesting to see where it still leaks, that should make some difference. The turbo repair shop guy told me that there could be a too small turbine side, restrictive at least, so im thinking to take my 2 garretts to the shop, if he sees any problems with my parts. And one thing... kotten tallgren fixed my ghias blinker base.. wow, looks so much better... To be continued.

Ghia repair, the black one

Sunshine, snow, old ghias & warm weather is a beautifull combination...I started the black ghia just to get some kicks, and it worked fine. I ran it 5-10 minutes and after that, i decided to take the garretts compressor side apart, because theres some leak of it. I heard that theres a turbocharger repair shop near by... 

Small happenings & things

No big things, just some studless winter tyres on the fuchs wannabe-wheels, for some snow action, hopefully with a video too... maybe they will fit the blue ghia? Got to paint them a bit...

black ghia update

while I'm busy with the brake overhaul (master cylinder change etc...), pekka from Kangasniemi modified a old gas tank, to look pristine, and also for the return line for the E85 fuel. its a beauty. 

small improvements....

that baby blue ghia got couple of wires, and now we have those front lights working so well,  (maybe the HID lights will have to wait for a while...) and as you can see the rear lights have some problems. i would guess that the problems are the grounding... the blinkers are not working for the moment. the wiring of the relay is fixed up someway. and at the rear the grounding is making some bugs. but seems like the blue ghia will be drivable in no time...heheheh. The Stroker engine... well I'm tinkering with the chinese tin, and the fitment aint so good at all. + theres no attachment to the coil & no holes to the throttle cable at all... BEWARE! I´ve been scratching my head, Should i mount the 48 IDAS or The Fuel Injection.... The 48 Isdas would cost 0 euros.but the eco and staff would be around 2000 e... and that old geezer with a cigar is my friend Mikko, great guy!

Ugly duckling, testing

Had to test a color that has been on my mind, silver paint mixed with black paste.

should be flat, will see... but the color is great. atleast for this.

if only the other side would be welded...and the front too... :-(

but, Boys will be boys...this was a fun experiment.
