Helsinki cruising 7-2015

Helsinki city cruising 2015 or the cruise night, was

full of happy people, great cars, and good weather.

what i missed was full batteries in my iPad & iPhone.

I was using my GoPro, but at least 

you have something to see...

a sharp looking Rustang, you can't beat patina.

i loved it. 

no need for wash, or paint...its all there.

sounded great also...

this thing makes my panel van look like a dwarf :-)

Zee datsuns are pretty good looking cars...

i hope to get one later on...

a SIX would be enough

maybe next time i bring Lili and Jimi altos the cruise..

the kids love those funny looking cars...

...but driving this...its always IN

patina pickups like this is also in my "got to have"

list...but before that i had to park my panel and 

grab some beer and some man-food :-)

...but it was fun, and people were feeling relaxed

Ghias and strokers...

They will meet one day... ;-)

Paruzzi.fi to the rescue!

I just got a set of differnt parts, a set of shims to my 2332 cc stroker engine, so that the berg rockers can be installed, ... a new gas cap, new ignition switch, both steering rods, to the blue ghia

A bilstein repair kit to the busses steering arm shaft, ... an oil cooler replacement for the next 1915 or for the stroker 2332 cc ... so now i only need time to do all of these...upgrades/repairs, wuuhuuu! Things happen!

Ok, next thing will be rpairing the clutch release system, with a new spring, and some other stuff as well, the weather is bad to the outside of the garage repairs, but i hope that ithe rain stops for a moment...

Strokers & stuff

Well, for the stroker, i just got a set of lash caps, but still i have to locate some studs for the rockers, the pauter rockers stud wont fit with the berg rockers...

And also ... Have to find a oil cooler part.

And if you have a set of super flo valve covers, to sell, give me a message!

I got the -1600cc engine to the ghia cab, but the clutch release spring snapped in 3 pieces in the first try... So more things to fix. 

I changed also the exhaust/heater part to the right side of the engine, and i will put all the ducting to work so that theres a working heater in the ghia. Heh. Useless?

No way, sometimes the summer nights are chilly, and if you drive without any top, you will need one.

The red bug will be meeting its new owner hopefully at friday. 

The black ghia needs also some attention :-)

New heart to the ghia, comes ...

...from the red bug, ... And the reason is that theres a need for a bug without an engine. It goes to seinäjoki region... So i will put it in the ghia tomorrow, and hopefully, it takes the ghia closer to the "running mode"... :-) this city needs a patina vert ghia to the streets... 

The change is coming!

For the panel van, ;-) ...its coming, the 84x94 stroker. It may not be the ultimate fastest panel van in the streets, but maybe a surprise for some of the guys in the Leasing GTI's, the brakes has always been superior, and the ride is like in the rails, so the only ingridient mising is 100 hp more. Maybe it will happen with this... Who knows. 

Another great trip - to kangasniemi

Visiting kangasniemi is allways fun, this time we had one goal especially antd that was Picking up the 1960 vw of mika ritvos. But in the same trip, i could pressure wash my 2 blocks, one stock 1600 cc and the other one is a as41 block for a 94 mm bore, align bored and machined for the full flow... Pekka made a oil-line modification, that im not familiar with, but i trust for this super-pro wizard, the other block seems to need an align-bore, and thats what it gets, there will be one 1600cc and one 1915cc long block...later on. Econo-budget ones. ;-)

I had to take a photo of my two "piggies" the 911 and the 912... They are ...well waiting.... :-)

Heres the flywheel side of the modified 94 bore block, this could make a nice engine to one of the convert ghias that i have... Who knows, or for the bug?

The grey haired hippie, is mika ritvos, the owner of the bus behind us.... The other ugly wide-faced guy is me, as you can see im on the drugs, yes i really am, taking pills everyday for the sarchoidosis, that was almost fatal this time.

The cat came also to say hi, but too fast, couldnt get a decent picture ;-)

Washing the blocks, they dont shine, but they are pretty awesome now, next thing will be to wash the cylinders and pistons... And chase the correct bearings... I have cylinder-heads ofcourse, but they are autocraft 910's and angleflows, so they are a bit extreme for these...

I also took the turbo-ghias plenums to get more welds, for the injector-area and for some fuel rails too...

I also had to check my ghia vert, that really seems to like dust & grime, well a wash wouldnt do harm... :-) thanks to pekka for the nice day, coffee and everything. Getting back soon... ;-)
